“That was it. Two takes on a Sunday afternoon. And then the whole world exploded.”
Everyone knows their sound – but do you know their story?
From humble beginnings on the streets of New Jersey, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons became one of the biggest bands in the world – but almost lost it all.
The winner of four Tony Awards and a pop-culture phenomenon, Jersey Boys is a global sensation, packed full of musical hits including Sherry; Big Girls Don’t Cry and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

press reviews
"A rousing, roof-raising return for musical theatre. From Oh, What a Night! to Can't Take My Eyes Off You, the show is a thrilling musical journey."
"The depth of talent on The Court Theatre's stage is simply astonishing. Who needs Broadway or the West End? As a doyen of New Zealand theatre in tonight’s audience said to me, 'This production is far better than the one I saw in the States some years ago.'
How lucky we are to have this show right on our own doorstep. I’m told tickets are selling fast, so get in now; don’t miss this! And if you live out of town, book your flight today! Such nights in the theatre are rare.""As if this performance by so many talented actors, actresses, musicians, and creatives hadn’t got me excited enough, when ending with a standing o, the audience was teleported into a rock concert of sorts. Every soul was clapping and dancing along to the final numbers. I have never left any performance with such a smile on my face. "
"The best musical I have ever seen."
"The crowd goes wild!"
"The best collection of pop hits since Mamma Mia!"

"Kia ora! My husband and I flew down from Tauranga yesterday specifically to see this production of Jersey Boys; a musical we have both adored but never seen. We were just buzzing from the show last night and completely blown away! It was worth all the 950km we travelled down for! Huge congratulations to the cast and crew on a spectacular production!!""I've been living in San Francisco for 23 years, and have seen a LOT of musicals during my time there - Broadway, San Francisco, and in London. I just came back from seeing your production of 'Jersey Boys' and was blown away at how slick and professional it was. It's definitely on par with any of the shows I've seen overseas (except for, maybe, Hamilton). Congratulations on a BRILLIANT performance. I'm glad I'm back to somewhere where I can see good theatre again - COVID put a stop to all theatre in the States. Keep up the great productions.""Have been counting the days until my wife and I got to see the show at the Court Theatre.
Last night was honestly one of the best shows we have ever seen (and this includes concerts by some of the best performers in the world). Fantastic story-line and brilliant performances by all cast members, supported by a top notch orchestra. A perfect way to end a year like no other. Please do yourself a favour and go and see this show while you can!""Wow! What a show!! Very slick production, set changes and choreography. The music production was great...very talented musicians. Then there was the cast... great harmonies, acting and wonderful voices. Kristian Lavercombe as Frankie was incredible...what an outstanding performance from him. Very professional production all round. Thank you all so much for the great entertainment.""Saw the show in Christchurch... totally outstanding. This is a show that must not be missed. The cast is first class in every sense of the word.""Once again a stunning show at the Court Theatre. This was my first time seeing Jersey Boys and I LOVED it! I sang, I danced in my seat, it was awesome. The singing, the cast, the costumes, the staging, the music all PERFECT. Great work team.""Good show and great music, but I think the Court Theatre needs to put ratings on your shows. I am no prude, but I took my family (4 kids aged from 10-16) and was a bit disappointed by the excess use of the word 'f**k' and 'f**king'! ""This has to be the BEST show that I have ever seen anywhere! I could have watched it for hours more. Such a professional cast that appeared to enjoy every minute.""well done everyone..brilliant show. Energy ++ music wonderful.
""Fantastic show - wow “What a Night”.
I’ve seen this show in London and in Auckland and now at the Court - it was great - singing was great, and staging and music. I knew it would be a excellent and exciting evening. It’s one of my favourite shows - know all the songs and sang along - shame the audience didn’t loosen up and get rocking - mostly elderly people.
Congratulations to the actors and company - would have loved an encore!"Submit Review
