Just when things should be slowing down for retirees Baz and Gen, life is Winding Up!
With grandkids to wrangle, a cruise to plan and Barry’s preoccupation with plotting his own funeral, the reality of the so-called ‘golden years’ is explored in this brand-new comedy from legendary playwright, Roger Hall (Four Flat Whites in Italy; Middle Age Spread; Glide Time).
Starring beloved actors Mark Hadlow and Darien Takle, Winding Up is a heart-warming Kiwi comedy that shouldn’t be missed.
"Roger Hall delivers an amusing and occasionally elegiac swansong for the bickering couple who delighted audiences in the 1990s in Conjugal Rites."

press reviews
"I’m always impressed by Hadlow’s versatility. He can grasp any role by the horns and really tame the beast. He embodied Barry perfectly and left me equally frustrated, bemused, and amused. Darien was a complementary figure to him, constantly soothing his senility. "
Liam Stretch
"Sir Roger Hall may be in his '80s but he's let us all know loud and clear that he still has 'it'; in fact this latest work is one of his best."
"Brilliant… his dialogue is so natural and artless, it’s less like being in a theatre and more like overhearing your parents or grandparents conversation (but a lot funnier). If you’re a boomer (like me) you might wonder if maybe he put a bug in your lounge and recorded your conversations with your spouse."
