Deborah has worked for The Court Theatre since 2000 and in 2019 became the Costume Manager after working as the Acting Costume Manager for eleven months. She has worked on over 150 shows including The Diary of Anne Frank; South Pacific; My Fair Lady; Grease; Romeo and Juliet; Mary Poppins; Winston’s Birthday; Macbeth; Legally Blonde the Musical; Chicago; Easy Money; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Jesus Christ Superstar and Jersey Boys. She most recently designed the costumes for Once.

She is well known for her designs for children’s shows including Mrs McGinty and the Bizzare Plant; Jack and the Beanstalk; Puff the Magic Dragon; The Littlest Ninja and Thumbelina. 

Her other design work includes Backwards in High Heels; Glorious and Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Fortune Theatre) for which she was nominated for a costume design award in 2011. She has also created work for Southern Ballet, Southern Opera, Circo Arts and Jenny Gillies.

Deborah has travelled nationally and internationally managing the wardrobe requirements for a large team, along with sewing for Jenny Gillies. She has created work for the Tauranga Floral Festival, Royal Adelaide Show, Ellerslie Flower Show and Christchurch Festival of Flowers all on more than one occasion.
