UPDATE 21 AUGUST
Due to the uncertainty caused by the current Alert Level for COVID-19 in Waitaha / Canterbury, The Court Theatre have made the difficult decision to cancel the Whā school tour that was scheduled to run from 23 August – 17 September 2021.
Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our show attendees – comprised mainly of tamariki for Whā - and supporters, artists, staff and the wider community, so we will continue to follow all Government advice.
Whā has been a collaboration between artists from all around Aotearoa so, although we are disappointed that this show will not be going ahead, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for their work on this incredible show. We also thank the Mainland Foundation for their support in creating Whā.
About Whā
In this creatively interactive cultural adventure, best friends TJ, Jake and Tāne travel through Te Waipounamu
(the South Island). Throughout their journey they explore four well-known narratives embedded within Kāi
Tahu, including Rākaihautū, Tahu pōtiki and Hine Haka. Packed full of physical theatre and waiata, kids will love this inspiring tale.
