Jake Tupu is a NZ-born Sāmoan theatre practitioner with over a decade of experience in performance and direction. He began his training with Massive Company in Tāmaki Makaurau, where he developed a strong foundation in devising and physical theatre - skills that continue to influence his creative process.

Rooted in a culture of rich oral tradition, Jake believes deeply in the power of storytelling to shift perspectives and spark connection. As an independent theatre maker, he has collaborated on and led numerous works across Aotearoa, with a focus on bold, culturally grounded narratives.

Jake is a core member of Y|NOT Theatre Collective in Ōtautahi, and was recently recognised at the Wellington Theatre Awards with an Accolade for Outstanding Performance for his role in The Dawn Raids.
