Vanessa (Nes) Karakia-Kore is an independent artist as well as the Associate Artistic Director and Cultural Director at The Court Theatre. She has a background in film and broadcasting and is passionate about the arts and kaupapa regarding social justice and change for BIPOC, LGBTQIA, women, specifically-abled people and communities.
Outside of The Court Theatre Vanessa is the company and creative director of Hiwa Media, a creative agency she co-founded aspiring to develop a place for indigenous stories and talent in Te Waipounamu The South Island.
