The Court Theatre is a vibrant and active organisation that serves our community in many ways. 2019 was an interesting year. It challenged us in a number of ways, and we proved that with good governance, leadership and a financial plan, we are a robust and resilient organisation.

2017 was a year that The Court grew and diversified its audience base. A year that introduced new schemes to make our work more available and a year where the company won a national award for accessibility.

This was an outstanding year for The Court with an artistically challenging programme that drew record numbers at the box office. It was a rich satisfying year of theatrical challenges and successes, which saw the company deliver excellent theatrical experiences to an ever expanding and diverse audience.

2015 was a rollicking year for The Court. It saw us push into new and diverse areas, it saw us give breath to some exceptional classic plays and it saw us take collaboration with other arts organisations to new heights. We created work that was genuinely challenging.

Against the backdrop of the rebuild in Christchurch, a city that now has thousands of new construction arrivals and supporting service organisations, The Court has grown, flourished and continued to provide entertaining and thought provoking theatre to both our existing audience and a new audience.

The breadth and depth of The Court Theatre’s work in 2013 reveals a healthy and robust theatre company. A company which is revelling in exploring all the areas of theatrical endeavour. We entered 2013 buoyed up by our pleasant astonishment at the large attendances that we attracted in our first year.
