Be there, even when you’re not…
The Court Theatre welcomes you to become part of its final stage in completing its new state of the art theatre in the heart of Christchurch city.
Take Your Seat offers you the chance to secure your place in its history.
By "purchasing" one of the 379 seats available, you can leave a lasting legacy. For the next 10 years, your chosen name – be it yours, a loved one, or a business name – will be proudly displayed on your seat, celebrating your generosity and support of the arts and The Court Theatre in О̄tautahi Christchurch.
Take Your Seat is part of the overall capital campaign for the new theatre, which has already raised an impressive $11.3 million, towards the final target of $12 million.
The tax deductible cost of the seat at $1,500 (flexible payment options available) will help to complete the new theatre at the corner of Colombo and Gloucester Streets, and will champion the people, artists and creatives who bring the Court Theatre’s world-class performing arts to life.
“We are nearing our goal thanks to incredible generosity, but we still need your support”, says Court Theatre Executive Director, Gretchen La Roche. “Take Your Seat is a way for individuals and businesses to participate in the final phase of this project."
“The Court Theatre's move to our new home is more than a change of address – it represents a bold and bright future for The Court Theatre. We are excited by the new opportunities it will enable for us as a company and in particular its capacity to deliver even better live theatre experiences for our audiences."
“After 53 years of planning and hard work we are about to realise the dream of achieving a purpose built, permanent home for The Court Theatre. This has been the result of the efforts of a large number of people over many years."
