William Ernest

William is a professional freelance musician and a graduate of Ara Institute of Canterbury (Bachelor of Music Arts).

William has previously worked for various music theatre companies around Christchurch, as a rehearsal pianist & orchestra member. Recent credits have included Wicked, Miss Saigon, Matilda the Musical, Spamalot, and Kinky Boots.

William also works as a musician and piano tutor for St Andrew’s College, at which he has played keyboards for over 20 musicals, such as Parade, Curtains, Songs for a New World, Bright Star, and Legally Blonde.

William also works regularly as a professional arranger and orchestrator, having written and arranged music for the CSO, among others. He recently contributed the orchestration to St Andrew’s College’s end-of-year viral hit performance of “Stairway to Heaven”.
