Tony Black (he/him) is a Wellington based lighting designer and technician. He won most promising emerging artist at the NZ Fringe in 2016, and was nominated for best lighting design for The Pink Hammer at the 2019 Wellington Theatre Awards.
More prominently known as a technical operator, Tony has been attached to many shows in Wellington, including the 2019 Wellington Theatre Awards production of the year, Pakaru, by Mitch Tawhi Thomas. Tony has toured with work throughout New Zealand and to China, Japan and Korea.
Despite touring so far abroad, Tony has not found himself within The Court Theatre before now and is very excited to be operating Rants in the Dark there as his introduction to the theatre.
