Tola is a 2010 graduate of Toi Whakaari (NZ Drama School). His work in theatre and teaching theatre has been recognized as sincere; respectful; superbly judged.

Tola’s wider theatre credits include Awhitapu (Takirua Productions); (Tawata Productions); Hīkoi (Hāpai Productions); He Reo Aroha (Tawata Productions); Hui (Silo Theatre/Auckland Festival); Ka Tito Au (by Apirana Taylor); Poropiti (Sugarlicks); Ship of Fools and Dante (A Different Light).

His television and film acting work includes The Prophet by Hone Kouka; Awhitapu by Albert Belz and The Pā Boys by Himiona Grace.

In 2013 Tola won an Auckland Theatre Award for his role as George Wāhie in the Silo Theatre and Auckland Festival season of Hui.
