Taungaroa’s debut performance at The Court Theatre was in The Forge’s 2013 season of Hui.
His previous theatre credits include: He Maunga; Play 2; 100 Cousins (Maidment Theatre); Hunchback of Notre Dame(Aotea Centre); The Prophet (NZ and Hawaii) and TU (Circa Theatre and Q Theatre).
Film credits include: Once Were Warriors; No 2; Born To Dance; Possession – The Janet Moses Story and Tama Tu. His television credits include: Shortland Street; Jackson’s Wharf; Hercules; Xena and Staunch.
As well as his work for stage and screen, Taungaroa has also performed in the bands The Yoots, Fat Freddys Drop and A Hori Buzz.
He is a descendant of Maui Tikitiki a Taranga, and is a storyteller, music festival manager and hooker/breakaway forward/point guard.
