Born and raised in Christchurch, Simon first started working in the theatre in 1986 when Theatresportsbegan at The Court Theatre. He would go on to be one of the founding members of Scared Scriptless and The Court Jesters. After a spell as Artistic Director he was a member of the Christchurch team that won the improv “World Mug” in LA in 1994.
After six months living in his parent’s freezer to prepare, Simon made the move to Montreal, Canada in 1995. Not speaking a word of French, it made perfect sense.
Simon soon joined Montreal’s renowned On The Spot Improv; regularly performing eight shows a week for the next 11 years! For eight of those he was On The Spot’s Artistic Director and lead them to five Just For Laugh’s Improv Championships.
Outside of Improv, Montreal had a vibrant animation, film and TV industry. Simon would lend his voice to dozens of animated shows including The Womble’s; Winx and the Emmy award winning Arthur the Aardvark.
He has appeared in numerous TV shows and films including More Tales From the Never Ending Story; Stardom; Samhain: Evil Breed and Seriously Weird.
In 2006 Simon began working as a voice director for video games starting with Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and the original Assassin’s Creed. Since then he has directed over 50 games, including Outlast; Far Cry 3; Rainbow Six: Vegas; Shaun White Skate; all the Assassin’s Creed games; and, most recently voice and motion capture for the Eidos game Deus Ex 4: Mankind Divided. You may even hear his voice in there too.
