Rima has performed regularly in theatre, film and television for 30 years, throughout NZ and Australia. She began her career back-to-front, performing professionally at Auckland’s Mercury Theatre for 18 months, then doing the acting course at Toi Whakaari/NZ Drama School afterwards. At times, she still does things back-to-front, for example donning pyjamas and reversing the car to work, instead of moving forwards in sensible daytime attire.
Rima’s previous Court Theatre credits include Footrot Flats; Private Lives; She Loves Me; The Rocky Horror Show; Alone it Stands; Lady Windermere’s Fan; Oliver!; Hamlet / Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead; The Birthday Boy; La Cage Aux Folles; Backstage; The Seagull; God of Carnage and Cabaret. Her recent theatre credits include Sons (Auckland Theatre Company) and as Mrs van Amersfoort in The Book of Everything (Silo Theatre).
Rima’s film credits include Taika Waititi’s Hunt For The Wilderpeople and Gerard Johnstone’s horror Housebound. Her recent television credits include guest roles in two new TV series: Terry Teo and Tatau.
