Lynn’s professional career began in the 1970s appearing in the weekly TV satire A Week Of It, as a presenter in the children’s show How’s That and as the lead female in the political satire McPhail and Gadsby.
Five years later she returned to her first love, live theatre, working several seasons at The Court Theatre where she established herself as a talented and versatile actress in many roles including Josie in Steaming; Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and the dual roles of Dull Gret and Angie in Top Girls. She also toured New Zealand as Pauline Mole in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ and as Fiona in John Inman’s Pyjama Tops.
From 1989 Lynn based herself in the UK and appeared in Horseshoe, a Bukowski short film and Grand Jury Prize winner at Cannes, as well as numerous commercials, music videos and cabarets.
During a brief visit home to New Zealand in 2004, she took the role of transsexual Sandy Campbell in Shortland Street. After returning permanently home, Lynn has performed in Venus Is (Q Theatre); A Shortcut to Happiness(Fortune Theatre); Intimacies (Maidment Theatre) and The Cripple of Inishmaan(Waiheke Theatre), as well playing Mrs Buck in the television series Westside.
