Julie McCloy

Julie joined The Court Theatre in mid-2021 following two years as the national Communications and Marketing Manager of GirlGuiding NZ.

Julie has channelled a passion for words into her studies and career. She achieved a Master of Arts in literature; a graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary); a Diploma in Publishing; and a Certificate of Proficiency in Not-for-Profit Leadership. Those qualifications have helped her promote a range of not-for-profits, including the Christchurch College of Education (original home to the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts); Terranova, Christchurch’s recycling and re-use operator in the late 2000s; and family and sexual violence support service Aviva, where she also held the additional portfolio of Funding Manager.

Throughout her career, Julie has naturally gravitated towards the not-for-profit sector and the importance of people above profit. Through this work she has become a keen advocate for the vital contribution of charities and not-for-profits to not only individual and family welfare, but the wellbeing and achievement of the wider community.

Julie is excited to combine her love of literature and live theatre with her communications skills and marketing experience in support of one of her favourite places, The Court Theatre.
