Iain McLachlan

Iain is a freelance Trumpet and Flugelhorn player from right here in Christchurch. Little Shop of Horrors will be his second production with The Court Theatre having previously worked on Chicago.

He studied Performance Jazz at CPIT, moving from there to join the NZ Navy Band in Auckland. During this time he was also a full-time member of the Rodger Fox Big Band, playing both Lead Trumpet and Solo Jazz chairs.

As a showband musician on cruise ships for 15 years, he had the opportunity to work with many world-class musicians and performers.

Iain is currently enjoying being an active performer with Court Theatre, Showbiz and many other bands. He has performed in various theatre productions around the country including Les Miserable, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.
