Darlene Mohekey

Darlene is a professional singer, director, musical director and award-winning writer, actress and show-off working extensively in theatre throughout New Zealand.

Darlene last appeared at The Court Theatre as ‘Velma Kelly’ in the 2017/18 production of Chicago. Previous theatre credits include Shipwrecked! An Entertainment (Circa); WINGS (The Basement); Club Cabaret (Centrepoint) and Treasure Island (Rollicking Entertainment).

For 10 years Darlene was Creative and Musical Director for Blue Baths, creating and leading hundreds of events. Well-known for her many tricks and cabaret-style talents, she performs an array of singing styles, musical instruments and whacky characters.

Darlene now lives half her year in Italy with her husband, growing vegetables and training rescue dogs to find their forever homes. “The dream is to share the work year and child rearing and to chase the sun across the world together!”
