Darlene is a professional singer, director, musical director and award-winning writer and actress working extensively in theatre throughout New Zealand.

For the past 5 years Darlene has been the Creative and Musical Director for The Blue Baths, creating and leading entertainment for international corporate functions and public theatre events. During this time Darlene headed the creation and production of 6 new, New Zealand works that have been performed in Rotorua and Auckland.

Fulfilling her love of impersonation and parody, Darlene starred in 3 series of TVNZ’s Facelift; a political satire in which she played numerous characters, including Helen Clark, Jason Gunn and Suzanne Paul.

Previous theatre credits include Shipwrecked! An entertainment (Circa); The Spy Who Wouldn’t Die Again (SEEYD and Downstage); Shop ‘til You Drop and Well Hung (Centrepoint); Mo and Jess Kill Susie and WINGS (The Basement); Dexter’s Deep Sea Discovery (TAPAC) Comedy Cabaret and The Choice (The Blue Baths).

Most recently Darlene stepped into the director role for School Dance at Centrepoint Theatre and was sound designer for Hand To God at Circa in Wellington.

Darlene is thrilled to be making her Court Theatre debut in what can only be described as “an absolute dream role.”
