Daniel is an emerging stage and screen actor based in New Zealand and Australia. He first gained notoriety in a sell-out 12-week season of Twelfth Night at the Pop-up Globe, the largest theatrical event of 2016, in which his performance as Olivia received critical acclaim. That year critics also praised his work in distinguished theatrical debut productions Ain't That a Bitch (Fox Rabbit Bear Theatre Company) and Lucrece (Auckland Shakespeare Company). His other theatre credits include Close City (Basement Theatre); The Effect (Q Theatre) and the thrilling Venus in Fur, which marked his Court Theatre debut.
Daniel’s numerous television credits include Dirty Laundry (TVNZ); The New Legends of Monkey (Netflix); American Playboy (Amazon Prime) and Why Does Love? (Great Southern Television) among others.
In 2019 he will appear in the romantic comedy Falling Inn Love (Netflix); television favourite Westside (South Pacific Pictures); and perform a leading role in the telefeature Ablaze, telling the story of the 1947 Ballantynes Fire, New Zealand’s deadliest fire.
Daniel graduated from The Actor’s Program in 2014. He also holds a BA with double majors in Theatre and English Literature, an LLB (Hons 1st), and in a former life practiced law as a Barrister and Crown Prosecutor. He continues training through regular participation in acting Masterclasses with such greats as Howard Fine, Miranda Harcourt and Larry Moss.
