Daniel graduated from The Actor’s Program in 2014 and he also holds a BA with double majors in Theatre and English Literature, an LLB (Hons 1st), and in a former life practiced law as a Barrister and Crown Prosecutor.
He first gained notoriety in a sell-out 12-week season of Twelfth Night at the Pop-up Globe, in which his performance as Olivia received critical acclaim. That year critics also praised his work in distinguished theatrical debut productions Ain’t That a Bitch (Fox Rabbit Bear Theatre Company) and Lucrece (Auckland Shakespeare Company). Other theatre credits include Close City (Basement Theatre); The Effect (Q Theatre); Romeo and Juliet (Pop Up Globe) and Venus in Fur, which marked his Court Theatre debut.
Daniel’s numerous television credits include Dirty Laundry (TVNZ); The New Legends of Monkey (Netflix); American Playboy (Amazon Prime) and Why Does Love? (Great Southern Television) among others. In 2019 he will appear in the romantic comedy Falling Inn Love (Netflix); television favourite Westside (South Pacific Pictures) and perform a leading role in the telefeature Ablaze, telling the story of the 1947 Ballantynes Fire, New Zealand’s deadliest fire.
He continues training through regular participation in acting Masterclasses with such greats as Howard Fine, Miranda Harcourt and Larry Moss.
