Awhimai graduated from Whitireia Performance Centre in 2014 with a Diploma in Performing Arts (Singing) and a Bachelor in Applied Arts (Performing Arts).
Her theatre credits include: Jane in Jane Eyre the Musical (Whitireia Performance Centre); Sandy in Grease (Wellington Musical Theatre); Red Riding Hood The Pantomime (Circa Theatre); Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Circa Theatre) and The Beautiful Ones (Tawata Productions).
Recently Awhimai travelled to China with the Mayoral delegation of New Zealand as a Cultural Ambassador, vocally supporting the Mayors with Māori Waiata. She has sung the National Anthem at various international sporting events around New Zealand and has performed with the internationally acclaimed Beatgirls for over three years.
