With everyone staying safe at home, we thought this would be a fantastic time to connect with our artistic community and hold open auditions!
We're welcoming submissions from artists with performance experience or training, be that several amateur shows under your belt, a Performing Arts Degree or perhaps you're a seasoned veteran who wants to work with us again.
We cast around 100 actors each year, so we need to be aware of who is out there wanting to work with us - and what skills they have.
PLEASE NOTE: For beginners or people just starting out, we ask that you consider training with us or other providers before applying through this process.
Required - TWO contrasting monologues (no longer than 2 minutes each)
Optional - a song
All auditions will be done via self-tape videos and those submitted will receive personalised feedback and may be shown to future Court Theatre directors in the casting phases of shows. Videos will be kept on file for two years.
Self-tapes MUST be submitted by 5pm Thursday 30 April 2020.
Please fill out questions as best you can, and feel free to contact us directly if needed at erica.browne@courttheatre.org.nz. We understand that due to the Level 4 lockdown procedures, participants may not have access to their regular recording equipment. We happily accept all quality of videos.
We would also like to select a couple of auditions and use them as good examples of technique on our Facebook page, accompanied by commentary. There is an "opt in" option should you wish to be considered for this video.
Who knows - this could be your big break!
