As we all do our bit to keep safe from COVID-19, we have made the call, with a very heavy heart, to cancel our upcoming season of RENT.
This has been a heart-breaking decision to make. It would have been fantastic to re-open with this high energy musical, but great things take time, and for us to bring forth this production to the stage in June, our teams would need to be in the early stages of production now.
We did investigate the possibility of rescheduling this production, however these are uncertain times and we are conscious of the possibility of COVID-19 resurgences as we flatten the curve. This being the case, our company sadly could not risk investing in such a large production knowing it may need to be cancelled at short notice.
We would like to acknowledge the time, energy and excitement that has been invested into this production, by our teams, audiences, supporters and sponsors. To our patrons and subscribers who have been affected by multiple cancellations in this period, we thank you for the kindness and patience you have extended to us.
Ticket holders will be contacted by our Box Office team within the next few weeks with a range of options, including a credit, refund, or a donation of their ticket cost. We are incredibly grateful to our patrons who have already chosen to donate their cancelled tickets back to us - we greatly appreciate their generosity and any further donations from our loyal community who support us at these trying times. Should you require a refund, we ask for your patience, as any refunds required will take time.
We are currently working on a plan for returning to the stage and can't wait to welcome you back to The Shed when we can, with more heart-stopping productions and magical musicals to bring our community together.
