The Christchurch City Council has advised that upcoming roadworks to install bus lanes on Lincoln Rd will require the temporary night-time (7pm-6am) closure of Bernard St - the main entrance to The Court Theatre – for up to three weeks from the evening of Sunday 29 May. During these times, access to and from The Court Theatre will be via our Clarence St (36C Clarence St) entrance.

Bernard St Access
  • Bernard St access is closed Sunday – Thursday evenings (inclusive) between 7pm and 6am during the period of Sunday 29 May (7pm) to Friday 15 June (6am).
  • Bernard St access is open as normal during this period (29 May – 15 June) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays between 6am and 7pm
  • Bernard St access is open during this period (29 May – 15 June) on Fridays (after 6am), Saturday and Sundays until 7pm.

Contractors Isaac Construction will install signage on Lincoln Road saying ‘Court Theatre Access 36C Clarence Street South’ during these closures. There will also be signage near the intersection of Whiteleigh St heading towards the city and on Lincoln Road before Bernard Street heading towards Halswell.

Please allow extra time for travel to the Theatre if you are attending evening performances.
