Join us for an exciting fun day for family and friends discovering Addington’s links to Kate Sheppard and the suffrage movement.
The Great Kate Chase is a free community event.
From 9am – 1pm on Saturday 23rd July The Court Theatre is hosting a special community event called The Great Kate Chase to tie in with That Bloody Woman, the new rock opera tribute to Christchurch’s famous suffragist and social reformer Kate Sheppard.
Modelled on traditional treasure hunts, The Great Kate Chase will take teams on an exploration of Addington following clues to complete tasks. Prizes will be awarded randomly for the fastest/slowest team, the oldest/youngest team member, the most creative … or anything else we can think of.
Gather a team of up to six family and friends – or just go solo – and register from the tab above for what will be a fun free day out before the 2pm matinee of That Bloody Woman at The Court. Team numbers will be limited for maximum enjoyment.
Where: Starts and finishes at The Court Theatre, Bernard Street, Addington.
Features six mystery locations within 1.5km of The Court which can be travelled to on foot or bicycle.
When: Saturday 23rd July 2016.
Teams may start any time between 9am-12pm but must be completed and back at The Court no later than 1pm to be eligible for prizes.
Prizes will be awarded at our discretion and will be announced on The Court Theatre’s Facebook page on Monday 25th July 2016.
Teams will need a smart phone with web access and a digital camera.
The Great Kate Chase will proceed regardless of weather. Be sure to rug up and travel safely.
Teams are welcome to purchase tickets to attend the 2pm matinee of That Bloody Woman after the race but please be aware the show contains really loud music, really coarse language and feminist women riding bicycles!
